The delegation of Turkmenistan made a study visit to Georgia to study the country’s successful sustainable energy projects, as well as the best practices of the European Union.
According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the Turkmen delegation consisted of 16 people, among whom were representatives of the State Electric Power Corporation “Turkmenenergo” and the Research and Production Center of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
The organizer of the visit is the European Union project “Sustainable Energy Connections in Central Asia” (SECCA).
During the visit, Turkmen specialists met with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Georgian Energy Development Fund, and the Energy Efficiency Center of the State Electric System of Georgia.
Delegates also became familiar with the general strategic and legal framework for promoting sustainable energy, practical aspects of promoting energy efficiency in buildings (inventory of government buildings, energy certification of buildings), practical aspects of promoting industry (registry of large enterprises, high-quality energy audits).
