Turkmenistan
1. On November 26, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Sustainable Transport – Contribution to Sustainable Development” and an exhibition dedicated to the adoption of the resolution “World Sustainable Transport Day” will be held in Ashgabat. Representatives of the UN Development Program Office, authoritative international and regional transport structures, and large transport companies are expected to participate in the forum in a hybrid format.
2. A Turkmen-Iranian business forum was held in Ashgabat, aimed at further deepening the partnership between the two countries. The next meeting of business circles was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. At the meeting, promising areas of cooperation between industry departments and business communities of Turkmenistan and Iran were discussed.
3. The National Flag was installed on the territory of the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan, which will be built within the framework of the World Expo 2025 in the Japanese city of Osaka. A plot of land for the construction of the National Pavilion was officially allocated to Turkmenistan as the first among all countries participating in EXPO 2025, and the country was the first to plant its National Flag on the territory of the World Exhibition - the artificial island of Yumeshima.
4. The Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages will hold an international Internet Olympiad in the Russian language among students. Students of all courses of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and Central Asian countries can take part in the intellectual competition. To do this, you must register on the official website of the university before November 30 by filling out a form on the Internet Olympiad page. The Olympics will be held in one round on December 6-7, 2023 by simultaneously connecting all participants.
5. The Turkish artist presented the “ebru” painting technique in Ashgabat. The event was held in Ashgabat within the framework of the opening ceremony of the Turkish Culture Days in Turkmenistan. The art of ebru - which means air clouds in Persian - came to Türkiye from Iran. The technique consists of drawing with paints on the surface of water and then transferring the image onto paper or another solid base - wood, fabric, ceramics or leather.
6. The Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva invites Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital to a concert dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. The concert will be on November 25 in the Great Hall of the Conservatory. Starts at 18:00, admission is free.

7. In 2024, the inhabitants of the Earth will be able to observe two solar eclipses. The first solar eclipse will occur on April 8. The phenomenon will be complete, that is, the Moon will completely cover the Sun. It will be visible to residents of the USA, Canada and Mexico. On October 2, we will experience an annular solar eclipse - an astronomical phenomenon in which the Moon does not completely cover the Sun. The eclipse will pass through the territory of Argentina, Chile, as well as the central and southeastern zone of the Pacific Ocean.
8. Romania is considering a bill that would impose fines on pedestrians who cross the road with their phone in their hands or with headphones in their ears. The fine can reach approximately 87,5 euros. Lawmakers believe that the new measures will help reduce the number of accidents. Five people have already died at pedestrian crossings in Romania this year.

9. Islam Rahmetov from Turkmenistan defeated Russian Ruslan Kiselev by unanimous decision in his debut fight at the professional kickboxing tournament FKR PRO 7 in Sochi. Rahmetov and Kiselev met in the ring within the framework of the preliminary card. The fighters showed a spectacular and intense fight, in which the Turkmen athlete dominated his opponent in all three rounds, which determined the judges’ sympathy. Islam Rahmetov is a candidate master of sports in kickboxing, five-time champion of Turkmenistan and winner of the 2019 World Cup.
10. Turkmen athlete Gaygysyz Torayev won a silver medal at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Mexico with a result of 335 kg in the combined event. In the snatch, Torayev held a barbell weighing 151 kg over his head, and in the clean and jerk – 184 kg. Turkmenistan is represented by 6 athletes at this tournament. The Youth World Weightlifting Championships will end on November 23. In the remaining days of the competition, Anamjan Rustamova, Resul Rejepov and Shahzadbek Matyakubov will take to the stage as part of the Turkmen team.
