In the near future, it is planned to create a modern agricultural town with a university and research institutes in the city of Arkadag. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said this during a working trip to a “smart” city of national importance, the Watan information program reported.
Noting that projects for new complexes of buildings of the Turkmen Agricultural University, research institutes of grain growing and agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, which will be built in the city of Arkadag, as well as a research institute for cotton growing in the Yoloten etrap of Mary velayat, have been prepared, the head of state emphasized the important role of their successful implementation in the further development of the agro-industrial complex.
As the President of Turkmenistan said, a specialized university should have agricultural land, a greenhouse, and various types of modern specialized equipment. This will allow students to improve their professional skills, including in such areas as increasing crop yields and controlling plant pests. Along with mastering national agricultural traditions, they must be able to acquire modern knowledge related to climate change and strengthening food security, for which it is necessary to actively implement a digital system.
“At the same time, focusing on the importance of creating appropriate conditions at the university for scientific activity, study, life and recreation of students, teachers and scientists, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that in the near future a modern agricultural town with a university and research institutes,” the message said.
