The Uzbekistan national football team held an open training session at the Ashgabat stadium on the eve of tomorrow's match with the Turkmenistan team in the second round of the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
As part of the Uzbekistan national team, star players appeared on the field of the Ashgabat stadium from the first minutes, including the striker of the Italian club Cagliari Eldor Shomurodov, the winger of the Moscow CSKA Abbosbek Faizullaev, the ex-midfielder of the Moscow Spartak Oston Urunov, who now plays for Navbahor " and others.
As the head coach of the Uzbek team, Slovenian specialist Srečko Katanec, noted during the pre-match press conference, his players are ready for the match with Turkmenistan and expect to win three points in the upcoming meeting.
It should be noted that in October the Uzbekistan national team won two friendly matches over the teams of Vietnam (2:0) and China (2:1).
The match between the national teams of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will take place on November 16 at the Ashgabat stadium at 19:00 local time.
