In Turkmenistan, 3 149 178 users are connected to the Internet, said Hajimurat Hudaygulyev, chairman of the “Turkmensvyaz” Agency (Türkmenaragatnaşyk), speaking at the “Turkmentel-2023” conference in Ashgabat, reports the “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” publication.
Of these, 421 609 are wired Internet users, and 2 727 569 are mobile Internet users, the head of the agency specified. He also noted that over the past 3 years, the total capacity of international Internet channels purchased by Turkmenistan has increased 10 times.
It was also reported that 8 interstate fiber optic directions for information transmission have been installed in Turkmenistan. Thanks to projects to expand telecom operator networks worth 273 million USD, the country has achieved 100% coverage of populated areas with high-speed Internet.
