On Sunday, the Ashgabat Alpine Club “Agama” organized the “Vertical Kilometer” skyrunning race to the Kharlasang peak (1643 meters), located on the northern tip of the Dushak-Erikdag mountain near the town of Gökdere.
As reported on the Agama website, amateurs and connoisseurs of mountain tourism and skyrunning took part in the race: the gathering took place early in the morning at the foot of the Kopetdag. About 40 athletes competed in speed.
The distance was 5 kilometers with a difference in altitude from start to finish of more than a thousand meters.
The track was well prepared by the organizers, which helped even beginners navigate the terrain. At checkpoints, participants were provided with water and a snack.
The judges recorded the results in the categories “men”, “women” and “juniors”.
According to the results, the winner of the competition was the multiple leader of skyrunning races, Alekper Akhmedov. His result was 1 hour 7 minutes.
Eldar Iksanov came to the finish line second (1 hour 32 minutes).
The top three was closed by Sergey Smakhashov (1 hour 40 minutes).
Among women, the winner was Nyazik Annakurdova (2 hours 21 minutes), Jamilya Khadzhieva was nine minutes behind her, and Olga Loskareva was third.
Among the youth, in the lead with a result of 1 hour 38 minutes 10 seconds was Vlad Korolev, Mikhail Sungurov was literally 30 seconds behind the winner. The third place in the standings was shared by Timur Bayramov and Alexander Miroshnichenko with a result of 1 hour 55 minutes.
The youngest participant in the competition is Dmitry Sungurov (11 years old). The oldest participants were Olga Kotelnikova (82 years old) and Valery Pruchkin (72 years old).
The competition winners were awarded diplomas by the organizers. The remaining participants received certificates.
