The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sent his deep condolences to the head of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokaev, in connection with numerous casualties and injuries as a result of the fire at the Kostenko mine in the Karaganda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Watan information program reported.
"On behalf of the people and the Government of Turkmenistan, as well as on his own behalf, the President of Turkmenistan conveyed words of sympathy and support at this difficult moment to the relatives and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims," it was noted in the message.
At the moment of the accident, there were 252 people in the Kostenko mine. 208 people were brought to the surface, 18 of them sought medical help. According to the latest information from the Department of Internal Affairs of the Karaganda region, 22 dead bodies have been found, and the search for the rest continues.
