Five open-air museums will appear in Uzbekistan on the site of archaeological monuments

Five archaeological sites in Uzbekistan will become open-air museums, writes Gazeta.uz with reference to the Agency of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“Chilanzar Aktepa” in Tashkent, “Dalverzintepa” in Surkhandarya region, “Mingtepa” in Andijan region, “Sherozkala” in Samarkand region, as well as “Koy-Krylgan-kala” in Karakalpakstan will acquire the status of an open-air museum.

At the sites, Agency employees, together with representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and local authorities, are working on the conservation of archaeological monuments and the creation of an open-air museum.

For the convenience of visitors, observation platforms will be installed at the sites, paths will be laid, lighting and benches will be installed. The preserved parts of the monuments will be covered with metal structures or fences.
