President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf announced the company’s plans to open an office in Turkmenistan. He announced this today during the International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2023,” a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
“For many years, SOCAR has been maintaining and developing mutually beneficial business relationships with Turkmen companies, in particular with our main partners - Turkmengas and Turkmenneft. Thanks to the support and constructive approach of our Turkmen colleagues, we were able to implement important projects, as well as outline future steps for joint activities,” Najaf said.
He also noted that the opening of a SOCAR office in Ashgabat will allow the company to further influence the positive development of existing projects and the creation of new joint projects with Turkmen partners.
Today, SOCAR is involved in the implementation of a number of projects in Turkmenistan, including the development of the Dostluk field, transportation of oil from Turkmenistan to international markets in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan, etc.
