Turkmen citizens will be able to open accounts in Russian banks remotely

The Russian government has approved a list of countries whose banks can remotely identify foreign clients to open accounts and cards for them in Russian credit institutions. The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

As the TASS agency reports, the list includes states in which foreign banks and other financial organizations are registered. They are authorized to identify foreign citizens and legal entities wishing to open accounts in Russia.

The list includes 25 countries, including Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, India, China and others.

It is noted that the order is necessary to implement the law adopted in July, which simplified access for foreigners to Russian financial services. Now Russian banks will be able to open accounts remotely after identification by foreign colleagues.
