A woman bought her children a copy of Harry Potter's wand from films about the wizarding world. During the game, the older child waved the stick too vigorously, causing a metal part (there was a miniature light bulb) to fly off from its tip. The piece hit the eye of the youngest child, seriously injuring him.
The entry of a foreign object caused damage to the retina and partial leakage of eye fluid. The child underwent several operations to restore his eye.
Now Jessica Perry intends to sue the film company Warner Bros. for the injury caused to her son by Harry Potter's wand. She plans to sue the company for 8 million USD.
