A new profession has appeared in Germany - a loneliness specialist. The first such specialized psychologist will go to work in 2024 in Berlin, writes “Europulse”.
The role of a loneliness specialist is to help people suffering from lack of attention and communication return to normal social life.
According to the Berlin municipality, every tenth resident of the German capital feels lonely. This is especially true for older people. There are almost a quarter of them in the Reinickendorf district, so this area of Berlin will be the first where such a specialist will appear.
The search for a candidate for a new position is currently underway. He must have a higher education in communications and at least two years of experience in the social sector.
Loneliness, especially after the pandemic, is a problem not only for Germans, but also for most residents of Western Europe. Different countries solve this issue in their own way, for example, in the Netherlands, cash registers have appeared in supermarkets for those who want not so much to buy groceries, but just to chat.
