Turkmenistan will take part in the 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY

On October 13-14, the 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the Turkic International Cultural Organization (TURKSOY) will be held in the Azerbaijan city of Shusha. Report.az reports this with reference to the words of Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Sait Yusuf.

The meeting will be attended by ministers of culture from 6 founding countries of the organization - Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. According to the accepted procedure, the work done by TURKSOY will be discussed at the meeting, tasks for 2024 will be identified and appropriate decisions will be made.

One of the important decisions that will be made at the meeting will be the transfer of the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” from Shushi to Anau.

Anau is an ancient city that was founded in the 4th millennium BC. It is located in Turkmenistan.

The transfer of the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” to Anau is recognition of the rich history and culture of Turkmenistan. This also demonstrates TURKSOY’s desire to further strengthen cooperation between the Turkic peoples.
