On October 7, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin celebrates his birthday - the head of state turns 71 years old, reports TASS.
Like all previous ones, President Putin celebrated this birthday at his workplace. Today, the Russian leader is scheduled to meet with the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and participate in a ceremony marking the start of Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.
Usually, Vladimir Putin prefers to celebrate his own birthday with his family and loved ones. He does not like attention to this date and tries to avoid discussing his birthday, although, as the head of state, he has to answer numerous calls with congratulations from the presidents of other countries, since, in addition to wishes for health and success in work, such conversations often touch upon other, work issues.
Usually, the Russian President celebrates his birthday in Moscow or St. Petersburg, but there have been exceptions. For example, the head of state celebrated his 50th birthday in Chisinau at the CIS summit; in 2013, the president found his birthday in Bali during the APEC summit; in 2015, on his birthday, Vladimir Putin took part in a hockey match between the “NHL Stars” and “Team NHL”.
The only time the president took a day off for his birthday was in 2014, when Vladimir Putin went on vacation to the Siberian taiga.
