The closing ceremony of the international film festival “Pearl of the Silk Road” was held in the Uzbek capital. The ceremony was distinguished by creativity and was held in the “Eternal City” - a unique historical and ethnographic park, where all the diversity of the rich culture of Uzbekistan is collected - the architecture of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Fergana, Tashkent and other cities of the country. On the red carpet, world cinema stars, including Sami Naseri, Emir Kusturica, Kevin Spacey, were greeted by actors dressed as Uzbek khans, who seemed to transport guests back to the XII century. On the main stage of the “Eternal City”, designed in the form of an amphitheater, a whole show was staged: light, sound and pyrotechnics. The “MIR 24 TV” channel informs about this.

As noted in the TV report, over the five days of the film festival, viewers watched 40 different films: from European to Japanese and Australian, and attended more than 60 master classes and trainings. Masters Frederic Diefenthal, Alexey Uchitel, Vladimir Khotinenko shared their experience. And this was relevant for young personnel in Uzbekistan.

French actor Semi Naceri was greeted with standing and applause. A creative meeting with Kevin Spacey created a real sensation at the festival. Guests lined up to chat with the Hollywood star. The “Oscar” winner spoke about his professional path and how to become a real specialist.

The festival participants paid special attention to Russian-Uzbek projects. Several joint films are already in production. This is a documentary and feature film with its own special style.

The festival was revived three years ago at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was a good impetus for the development of the film industry throughout Central Asia. The global cultural exchange that distinguished the film festival in Tashkent gives reason to say that very soon Uzbekistan will become a major cinematic center not only in the republic, but also beyond its borders, “MIR 24” notes.
