Turkmenistan confirmed its commitment to gas supplies to Europe through the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline

National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in Berlin that the European vector has been and remains on the agenda of international energy cooperation of Turkmenistan. Chairman Halk Maslahaty said this while speaking at a meeting of heads of delegations of Central Asian countries and the Eastern Economic Committee of Germany, reports the State Information Agency TDH.

According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, an important area of cooperation for Turkmenistan is energy, in which the gas and electric power industries occupy priority positions.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that here, Ashgabat focuses on increasing gas production capacity, expanding a multi-variant gas transportation infrastructure to ensure the supply of Turkmen natural gas to world markets.

“It should be especially noted that the European vector has been and remains on the agenda of international energy cooperation of Turkmenistan. In this context, I want to confirm Turkmenistan’s firm position on gas supplies to Europe through the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline,” emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

Chairman Halk Maslahaty noted that a lot has been done for this over the past 15 years, a systematic partnership has been built with the European Union.

“We are ready to resume our active contacts with the relevant structures of the European Commission, individual European states and companies in the context of the implementation of large international energy projects,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
