A course on studying the Turkmen language has started at the Japanese University of Tsukuba. More than 50 students, both Japanese and foreign, are participating in it, reports the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.

The university management believes that this event will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Studying the Turkmen language will permit Japanese students to better understand the culture and traditions of Turkmenistan, and will also help them in the further development of bilateral relations.

On September 26, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov visited the university. During the visit, he got acquainted with the learning process and read to students a new poem by National Leader of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about Magtymguly Fragi.

The Turkmen language course at the University of Tsukuba is an important step towards strengthening mutual understanding between the two countries.

As Turkmenportal previously reported, classes in the Turkmen language will be conducted by university researcher Masahiro Oku.

The University of Tsukuba is a public research university located in the Japanese city of Tsukuba, one of the top 10 national universities, and has an “A” rating from the Japanese government as part of the “Best International University” project.
