The Federation Cup of Chess of Turkmenistan starts in Ashgabat on October 1. About 90 participants from all regions of the country have already registered for the tournament, which is being held in the country after a long break, the FCT reported.
Another feature of the competition will be that the results and standings of the tournament will be displayed on the world-famous platform www.chess-results.com. The FIDE rating will also be calculated for all participants.
The prize fund of the Federation Cup is 10 000 manats. In addition to at least five overall finishes, prizes will also be awarded for the top three finishes among women, under 18 boys and girls, and under 12 boys and girls.
On October 8, at the end of the tournament with classical time control, rapid and blitz competitions will be held with a prize fund of 4 000 manats.
It is planned that the tournament will be held annually and has the prospect of becoming international. In the future, participants may be divided into two or more categories to attract more participants, including highly ranked title players.
Such tournaments provide an opportunity to improve skills not only for professional athletes, but also for beginning chess players and even amateurs.
