Today in Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, the information program Watan of Turkmen television reported.

Minnikhanov arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the country's Independence Day. He congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the holiday and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.

Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the business community of Tatarstan is interested in expanding its position in the Turkmen market. He noted that this is facilitated by the favorable investment situation in Turkmenistan and the country’s high international reputation.

It was also emphasized that Turkmenistan and Tatarstan have long-standing fruitful relations in the humanitarian sphere. Scientists and cultural figures of Tatarstan actively participate in major international conferences and creative festivals held in Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further strengthening and development of bilateral relations.
