WhatsApp messenger will stop working on smartphones with outdated versions of the Android operating system. From October 24, 2023, the application will be supported only on devices with Android 5.0 and higher, RIA Novosti reports with a link to the official application page.
Today WhatsApp works on smartphones running Android 4.1 and later. However, this version of the operating system was released in 2014, and has not been supported by Google developers for a long time.
Before support ends, users will be notified several times directly via WhatsApp.
