The first batch of electric vehicles for the capital's eco-taxi has arrived in Bishkek, reports the Economist. An environmentally friendly form of public transport is being launched in test mode.
The project to introduce eco-taxi in the capital of Kyrgyzstan is part of an initiative to develop environmentally friendly transport in Bishkek and reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
Eco-taxi drivers will be able to obtain a license to drive this type of transport on a special yellow lane. They will also have the opportunity to purchase such cars for taxi use on lease and the right to use electric vehicle charging at a reduced rate at municipal electric charging station locations.
