A rare banknote with a face value of 10 thousand USD was sold at an auction in Dallas, America, informs “MIR 24”.
The final cost of the bill is 480 thousand dollars. It was released in 1934 during the era of the Great Depression - the largest financial and economic crisis of the XX century in the United States and the world. The banknote has never taken part in monetary circulation. It depicts US Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase, who served in that position under President Abraham Lincoln.
The last time a similar banknote was sold at auction for $384 thousand was in 2020.
