On September 19, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan held a video meeting dedicated to the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the International Tourism Exhibition Tourism Expo Japan 2023, which is planned to be held in Osaka (Japan) from October 26 to 29.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan, as well as heads of private travel companies “Aziyanyn Merjeni”, “Ashgabat Syyahat”, “Ayan”, “Durdyniyaz” and “Dag Syyahat”.

From the Japanese side - representative of the Department for Central Asia and the Caucasus of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Okuda Hisakatsu.

Specific issues related to the participation of the Turkmen delegation in Tourism Expo Japan 2023 were discussed. In particular, it was reported that the Turkmenistan pavilion will be located in the Central Asia sector, which is traditionally intended to be divided between all five countries of the region. Models of the Turkmen stand were also demonstrated.

Within the framework of the exhibition, it is planned to hold a special session for tour operators, where the head of the Turkmen private travel company “Dag Syyahat” will make a presentation.

Also, on the sidelines of the international tourism show there will be presentations of the cultural heritage of the participating countries. For this purpose, it is planned to include musical groups, the “Ay Mahri” company with a demonstration of national costumes, and representatives of Turkmen television in the delegation.

Turkmenistan has taken part in this prestigious international exhibition more than once. Within the framework of the review, representatives of the Turkmen delegation hold presentation events, as well as negotiations with colleagues from foreign countries. Visitors to the National stand highly appreciate the fundamental reforms being carried out in modern Turkmenistan in all areas. The dynamic changes taking place in the field of tourism in our country attract special attention of foreign tour operators and travel companies”, - Gulshat Bakiyeva, deputy head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, told Turkmenportal.

Let us remind that Tourism Expo Japan is the world's largest tourism exhibition for representatives of the tourism industry and travel enthusiasts and has been held annually since 2014. It is jointly organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association, the Japan Travel Agents Association and the Japan National Tourism Organization.

The main thematic areas of the exhibition: recreation, tourism products, tour operators, beach holidays, tourism, active recreation. Along with the traditional format of exhibitions and business meetings, the organizers hold events that help exhibitors realize new business opportunities for the tourism industry.
