The next meeting of the Climate Group of Development Partners was held in Ashgabat

Today, the next Coordination meeting of the Climate Group of Development Partners, organized by UNDP and the British Embassy in Turkmenistan, was held in Ashgabat.

The event was held as part of the continuation of the established dialogue to promote the efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan to implement international obligations under the Paris Climate Agreement.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the UN agency, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ashgabat and young ambassadors of the SDGs of Turkmenistan.

Participants also discussed preparations for the upcoming 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will be held in Dubai from November 30 to December 12.

During the meeting, development partners provided updated information on their current activities and planned projects to support Turkmenistan in efforts to mitigate climate change, increase resilience and strengthen adaptation measures, the UNDP press service reports.
