At the international swimming tournament that started in the capital of Tajikistan, timed to coincide with the fifth Consultative Meeting of the Leaders of Central Asian Countries and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, swimmers of Turkmenistan won four medals, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
In the women's 4x100 freestyle relay, Valeria Mirenskaya and Ogulmerjen Nurayeva, as part of a joint international team, won a silver medal. Together with them, two swimmers from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan climbed to the podium.
Valeria Mirenskaya also won a bronze medal in the 50-meter butterfly, and Ogulmerjen Nurayeva won a bronze medal in the 50-meter breaststroke.
Kurban Hommadov, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, won another bronze medal in the 200-meter breaststroke.
