The victims of the powerful earthquake that occurred in Morocco last Friday were 2862 people and injured 2562 residents of the country, reports “MIR 24”, with reference to information from local television.
The 6,9 magnitude earthquake was the deadliest since 1960, when tremors killed more than 12 thousand people in the kingdom.
At present time, search and rescue teams and emergency services continue to search for the dead and injured who remain under the rubble. The day before, the kingdom's authorities reported 2681 dead and 2501 injured.
According to the Red Crescent, it could take years to repair the damage, the source said.
