In the French city of Mennessy, the authorities decided to take care of domestic cats, which the owners let out for walks in the neighborhood, writes Europulse.
Along the roads, signs with the silhouette of a cat and the inscription Chat en balade - "A cat for a walk" were installed. This should urge drivers to be more careful and keep an eye on the road, which at any moment can enter the cat - domestic or stray.
Similar signs have been installed to protect hedgehogs and horses, which also often fall under the wheels of cars.
As part of the humane treatment of pets in France, electric collars and hard collars with spikes are prohibited.
