Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been named European Player of the Year for the 2022/23 football season.
The award was presented following the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage draw, which took place on 31 August in Monaco.
The 23-year-old Manchester City player beat team-mates Kevin de Bruyne and Lionel Messi from Inter Miami in the voting.
Haaland won the Champions League last season, scoring 12 goals and becoming the tournament's top scorer.
