Turkmen "Merv" will play against the Kyrgyz "Alai" in yellow. The 2023/24 AFC Cup preliminary round match in the Central Zone will start in Mary on August 15 at 16:30 Ashgabat time.
This became known following the results of the pre-match meeting with the participation of representatives of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), clubs, as well as all structures involved in organizing the match, FFT reports.
Earlier we reported that the meeting of the preliminary round of the AFC Cup-2023/24 in the Central zone will be judged by a team of referees from Kuwait, headed by FIFA referee Ammar Isam Ashkanani.
According to the press service of the football club "Merv", the entrance to the match with "Alay" will be free.
Based on the results of this match, the opponent of the Tajik "Khujand" will be determined at the playoff stage, which will be held on August 22 at the stadium "20th Anniversary of Independence of Tajikistan" in Khujand.
In case of success at the preliminary stage and the playoff stage of the AFC Cup, the football club "Merv" will have the right to play in the group stage of the tournament in the Central zone, together with the clubs "Ravshan" (Tajikistan), "Altyn Asyr" (Turkmenistan) and "Abdysh- Ata (Kyrgyzstan).
The group round of the 2023/24 AFC Cup in the Central Zone will begin on September 20 and end on December 14. Only the winner of the group will advance to the next stage of the tournament.
