Today, Turkmenistan celebrates the International Day of the Caspian Sea, which is also held in five Caspian countries since 2006, when the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian came into force.
By the significant date, international conferences, scientific readings, meetings of environmental scientists, events for young people, various actions aimed at attracting public attention to the environmental safety of the sea, maintaining and preserving its unique ecosystem are organized.
Turkmenistan, being a consistent supporter of maintaining peace and cooperation in the region of the Caspian basin, stands for a constructive dialogue based on taking into account the state interests of the countries on the entire spectrum of issues of the Caspian problem.
Traditionally, in order to widely popularize the country's environmental policy, expand international cooperation aimed at ensuring environmental safety and protecting the marine environment of the Caspian Sea, a scientific and practical conference, sports and cultural events are being held today in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone.
Let us remind that yesterday in the building of the Department of Education, Science and Culture of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan, a needlework lesson was held, dedicated to the International Day of the Caspian Sea. Also, friendly matches in beach volleyball and football among diplomats were held yesterday in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone.
