The Embassy of Belarus in Turkmenistan reported that 330 citizens of Turkmenistan were admitted to Belarusian universities this year. Turkmen students received invitations from 23 higher educational institutions of the republic.
The most popular university among Turkmen students was the International State Ecological Institute named after A. D. Sakharov BSU, which accepted 92 applicants. In second place in popularity was the Belarusian State University (79 students), and the third - Grodno State University named after Ya. Kupala (35 students).
One citizen of Turkmenistan was enrolled in the Belarusian State Medical College, Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov, Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Grodno State Agrarian University, Belarusian State Agricultural Academy and Mogilev State University named after A. A. Kuleshov.
Education in Belarusian universities takes from four to six years, depending on the specialty. In total, more than 8 000 students from Turkmenistan study in Belarusian educational institutions.
