1. Artists of the Big Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky avenue and the Moscow Nikulin Circus on Tsvetnoy boulevard have completed their performances in Ashgabat. On August 9, their tour begins in the Dashoguz velayat. The artists will perform their performances on the stage of the “Turkmen White Yurt” building, which is intended for holding concerts and festive events. Tours of Russian artists in Dashoguz will last until August 18.
2. Famous Turkmen opera singer Leyli Okdirova will perform at the grand opening of the “Caspian Seasons” international festival of classical art. The festival, which will be held in Astrakhan, will also feature musicians and singers from Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia. The opening is scheduled for August 22 at the Cathedral Square of the Astrakhan Kremlin.
3. On August 11, a needlework lesson dedicated to the International Day of the Caspian Sea will be held in the building of the Department of Education, Science and Culture of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan. Participants will master the production of the “Beauty of the Underwater World” panel using mixed media: acrylic paints, texture paste and gold leaf decor.
4. Turkmen language courses for Japanese and foreign students will start at the Japanese University of Tsukuba in September. The Japanese University closely cooperates with the higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, and the researcher of the university Masahiro Oku will conduct classes in the Turkmen language and literature, and will also talk about the culture of the country. Especially for this, the first Turkmen-Japanese phrasebook was released in July this year.
5. The State Association “Turkmenatlary” announced the recruitment of employees for various positions. The association is looking for qualified specialists in the field of information technology, veterinary medicine, bacteriology, virology, serology, parasitology, chemical-toxicology and mycology. Applicants must have relevant education and experience in these areas.

6. Loch Ness Center and Loch Ness Exploration (LNE) have announced the largest surface water study in more than 50 years to search for the Loch Ness Monster. The search will begin at the end of this month - August 26-27. The last time a large-scale search was conducted was in 1972, when the Loch Ness Bureau of Investigation examined the reservoir for signs of a mythical monster.
7. A microphone thrown at an audience by American rapper Cardi B has been put up for auction on eBay. Cardi B threw a microphone at one of the fans after she splashed her with a drink. The microphone decided to sell on eBay the owner of the sound company The Wave Scott Fisher. The microphone's starting price of 500 USD quickly increased to 100 USD.

8. Sangiza Bahtiyarova from Turkmenistan won a bronze medal at the 2nd CIS Games. The Turkmen weightlifter achieved this result in the weight category over 87 kg. Bahtiyarova scored 196 kg in the biathlon. Tursunoy Jabborova from Uzbekistan, two-time world championship winner, won the gold medal, Margarita Leshchenko from Belarus took the silver.
9. Yhlas Narimanov from Turkmenistan became the silver medalist of the World Chess Championship among school teams. A 6th grade student of the 41st secondary school in Turkmenabat showed a level of play of 87,5% and finished the tournament in second place in the individual standings. The World Chess Championship among school teams was held in Kazakhstan with the participation of about 350 schoolchildren from more than 50 countries of the world.
