The historic futsal tournament among the national teams of Central Asia has ended in the capital of Tajikistan. The best team of CAFA Futsal Cup-2023 was the national team of Iran, which sensationally lost to Turkmenistan in the first round.
In the last round, the national team of Turkmenistan suffered a minimal defeat from the team of Afghanistan - 2:3. In other matches, Uzbekistan defeated Kyrgyzstan - 4:0, and Iran defeated Tajikistan - 1:0.
Thus, the gold medals of the CAFA Futsal Cup-2023 tournament were won by the Iranian team, which earned 12 points in five matches. Silver for the team of Afghanistan (10 points). Bronze medal for the national team of Uzbekistan (9 points).
The national team of Turkmenistan took the fifth place with six points. The Turkmen team led by Yakub Ovezov defeated Iran (2:1) and Kyrgyzstan (2:0) and lost to Tajikistan (2:4), Uzbekistan (1:3) and Afghanistan (2:3).
The award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the CAFA Futsal Cup-2023 tournament was attended by the First Vice President of the Central Asian Football Association Mohammad Yusuf Korgar, CAFA Secretary General Ulugbek Karimov and Secretary General of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Furkat Ahmedjanov.
According to the results of the tournament, the player of the national team of Uzbekistan Husniddin Nishonov, who scored five goals, became the best goal scorer. The best goalkeepers were recognized as the goalkeeper of the Iranian national team Mahdi Rostami and Oman - Ibrahim Saleh Al-Muhaini. The most valuable player of the CAFA Futsal Cup-2023 was the player of the Iranian national team Ali Akrami, and the national team of Tajikistan received the Fair Play prize.
