Bishkek is hosting an international festival of crafts and traditional culture, in which craftsmen from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and India take part, reports “MIR 24”.
The festival is called “Oimo”, which is translated from Kyrgyz as “national ornament”. The purpose of the event is to preserve and popularize folk crafts and traditions of different countries.
The fair presents Uzbek ceramic dishes, Turkmen traditional clothing and embroidery by Indian craftsmen. For the most curious guests of the festival, a master class on felt art and painting on ceramics was organized.
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the crafts festival will last until the end of July, and then the craftsmen will show their craft on the shore of Issyk-Kul, the source says.
