Training for media representatives on the humanitarian dimension of the OSCE was held in Ashgabat

A two-day training for journalists on media coverage of issues of the OSCE humanitarian dimension has ended in Ashgabat. This is reported by CentralAsia.news.

The seminar was conducted by international trainers: Elena Choina from Moldova and Ilya Dogel from Austria. A special emphasis was placed on the principles of the third dimension of the comprehensive concept of the OSCE - the humanitarian sphere. The working structure of this area includes the development by media representatives of materials on the support and protection of national minorities, issues of tolerance and non-discrimination, freedom of speech, gender equality and equal opportunities.

The journalists got acquainted with how stories are built related to the protection of human rights, cooperation with democratic institutions, social integration and problems of civil society.

As practical examples, an analysis of thematic publications was organized, where participants learned more closely how to successfully reveal a topic that is relevant to the life of society, how to comply with ethics when highlighting negative challenges of humanitarian significance.
