The representative from Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of the expert group dedicated to the implementation of the Strategy for the development of cooperation between the CIS countries in the field of tourism. In particular, the issues of finalizing and agreeing on the draft Action Plan for 2024–2026 for the implementation of this Strategy were considered.
According to the website of the CIS Executive Committee, the agreed draft Plan will be submitted for consideration by the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
The strategy for the development of cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of tourism is designed for 2021–2030.
The goals of cooperation for the period of implementation of the Strategy are:
- intensification of tourist flows in the domestic market and joining efforts in creating a joint tourism product and promoting it on the world market;
- growth of income received from this sphere by all CIS states;
- preservation of universal values and cultural diversity;
- promoting the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
