From July 24 to July 29, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) will host matches of the II group of the Asia and Oceania zone of the Billie Jean King Cup - the largest team tournament in women's tennis. The national team of Turkmenistan will take part in it, which got into group "B" together with New Zealand, the team of the Pacific region, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
According to the Turkmenistan Tennis Federation, the national team included Aisha Bikbulatova, Bahar Toymyradova, Ilima Huseynova, Maral Ahmedova, Natalya Martynova and Sabrina Rahmanova. The captain and head coach of the team is the master of sports of Turkmenistan, member of the national men's team of the country, coach of the international category ITF Yuri Rogussky.
The Billie Jean King Cup was founded in 1963 as the Federation Cup and renamed in 2020 in honor of the legendary American tennis player Billie Jean King. The tournament is organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
