Today, Turkmen-Tajik inter-ministerial consultations were held in Ashgabat with the participation of the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived in Turkmenistan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the meeting a wide range of issues of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
The ministers reaffirmed the great importance of further strengthening long-term ties between the two states, it was noted that high-level visits occupy a special place in strengthening and expanding Turkmen-Tajik relations.
Speaking about the growth of economic ties, the Turkmen side noted that Tajikistan is one of the significant foreign economic partners of Turkmenistan.
The parties considered the priority issues of further deepening the partnership, and also confirmed the need for further development of cooperation in the field of cultural exchanges, education, science and sports.
Let us remind that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin is in Ashgabat on an official visit at the invitation of the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan R. Meredov.
