Kurban Berdyev got a job at Dynamo Makhachkala. The club announced the appointment of a 70-year-old specialist as head coach, writes Sports.ru.

Berdyev's last place of work was Sochi, which he left in April. Under the leadership of Berdyev, the Sochi team played five matches in the RPL, in which they defeated CSKA (2: 0) and Dynamo (2: 0), and also lost to Orenburg (0: 4), Fakel (0: 3). ) and "Wings of the Soviets" (1:2).

In the 2022/23 season, Dynamo finished eighth in the First League of the Russian Football Championship.

The Makhachkala residents will start the new season on July 15 at Luzhniki with a match against Torpedo Moscow.

Kurban Berdyev was born on August 25, 1952 in Ashgabat. He played for such teams as Kolkhozchi, SKA (Rostov-on-Don) and Rostselmash. In 1977, from 1981 to 1985 and in 1993 he was a football player of FC Kairat. In total, he played 175 matches for Kairat and scored 34 goals.

He began his coaching career at Khimik from Dzhambul. After that, he became an assistant to Bakhtiyar Baiseitov in Kairat, with whom they together led the team to the first champion title. After Kairat, he left to train the Turkish Genclerbirligi, but already in 1994 he returned to the Almaty team, this time as a head coach.

A year later, he left the team, and during his subsequent coaching career he led such teams as Munaishy, Nisa, the national team of Turkmenistan, Kristall, Rubin and Rostov. Under the leadership of Berdyev, Rubin twice became the champion of Russia (2008, 2009), and also won the Cup (2011/2012 season) and the Super Cup (2010, 2012) of the country. With Rostov, he became the RPL silver medalist and won a ticket to the Champions League group stage, making his way through the qualifications.

Being the coach of "Rostov" and "Rubin" Berdyev repeatedly beat the top European teams in various continental tournaments.
