The team of the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan will take part in the rally-raid “Silk Way” in 2023

Racers from Turkmenistan will take part in the 2023 “Silk Way” rally, which will start on July 5. According to silkwayrally.com, the teams will have to cover a route of more than five thousand kilometers. Having passed through the territories of 13 regions of Russia, the athletes will finish on July 15 at the walls of the Moscow Kremlin.

98 participating crews will pass through the starting arch in all classifications of the rally. The “Silk Way” rally-raid has the status of an international rally-raid competition, which will also include: the MFR international cross-country rally competition, the third stage of the Russian rally-raid championship - the “Silk Way” Baja, the Grand Tour “Small Towns of Russia” and the Adventure Trophy for motorbike enthusiasts.

Most of the participants in the T2 off-road category. Of the 17 crews that will start in Kazan, 13 will travel the entire route of the international rally to reach the finish podium on Red Square.

Last year's rally winner Merdan Toylyev from the team of the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan will defend his title in a tense fight against the reigning champion of Russia Anton Melnikov and two pilots of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT Raid team - Dmitry Voronov and Evgeny Sukhovenko.

In total, the start of the “Silk Way” rally in 2023 will be attended by representatives of 23 countries. The upcoming thirteenth edition of the “Silk Way” International Rally will be a new step in the development of the largest Rally Raid Competition Project in Eurasia.
