From the beginning of June, off-season controllers, hired until the end of August under the quota of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, went to the observation posts arranged due to the fire hazard period. This year, 70 people were certified.
According to the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”, controllers-observers annually in the hottest months help environmentalists in natural and economic areas to prevent fires.
The observers are provided with mobile communications and means of extinguishing local fires - firecrackers with a rubber part on a long pole.
The posts operate from 8 am to 8 pm, there are inseparably from two to four people trained to quickly extinguish fires, otherwise promptly inform higher authorities about the incident. 80 ecological posts have been created in Turkmenistan.
Ecologists recommend that citizens be vigilant and responsible, hold picnics in specially equipped places, do not leave flammable garbage behind, carefully extinguish coals in the barbecue, etc., in general, observe the culture of outdoor recreation.
Motorists should hang spark arresters on the exhaust pipe, have an accessible means of extinguishing fire with them, and if smoke is detected in the steppe in the direction of traffic, report to nearby administrative centers or firefighters.
