The Asian Football Confederation has announced the dates of the matches of the preliminary round and the playoff stage of the second most important club tournament in Asia - the AFC Cup-2023/24, the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan reports.
The bronze medalist of the championship of Turkmenistan on football "Merv" at the stage of the preliminary round of the AFC Cup-2023/24 in the Central zone will meet with the silver medalist of the championship of Kyrgyzstan "Alay". This meeting will be held on August 15 in Turkmenistan.
The winner of the match "Merv" - "Alay" will meet on August 22 with the bronze medalist of the championship of Tajikistan "Khujand" at the playoff stage of the AFC Cup-2023/24.
In case of success at the preliminary stage and in the playoffs of the AFC Cup, the football club "Merv" will have the right to play in the group stage of the tournament in the Central zone, along with the clubs "Ravshan" (Tajikistan), "Altyn Asyr" (Turkmenistan) and "Abdysh- Ata (Kyrgyzstan).
The group round of the 2023/24 AFC Cup in the Central Zone will begin on September 20 and end on December 14. Only the winner of the group will advance to the next stage of the tournament.
