On June 17, Great Britain celebrates the official birthday of its monarch Charles III, writes Sputnik Belarus with reference to information from the British Ministry of Defense.

Specially in honor of this event, there will be a military parade of the Royal Air Force, as well as a parade of the navy and ground forces. Planes from the Second World War and modern fighters will take to the air. There will also be a solemn ceremony of the removal of the banner - Trooping the Color, the celebration will end with an artillery salute.

Parades in honor of the official birthday of the British monarch have been celebrated for more than 260 years, and air parades since 1913.

It is known that Charles III will take part in the parade on horseback (his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, watched the parade from her own carriage).

British monarchs traditionally have two birthdays - the official, which is usually celebrated on the first, second or third Saturday of June, and the actual, that is, the real one. For example, Charles III celebrates his real birthday on November 14.
