Today, the grand opening of the International Dance and Folklore Festival Awaza-2023 took place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

On the banks of the ancient Hazar, participants of a unique creative review, reflecting the diversity of folklore traditions and modern choreographic culture of different peoples of the world, gathered. Folklore groups and dance groups representing the Turkmen capital and all regions of the country are among the participants of the festival.

Foreign guests are the Kazakh folklore groups "Zhorga" and "Aktau Sazy", the dance and folklore ensemble from Tajikistan "Lola", the Romanian folklore group "Transylvania", the Russian dance groups "Ogonki" named after Garry Polevoy and "Rivayat" from Kazan, and also representatives of choreographic art from Iran - "Zendegi Mazandaran", India - Assamese, the ensemble of the School of Culture, Art and Tourism of Xinhai Province of China, folk song and dance ensembles of Uzbekistan "Parvoz" and "Bogdon".

The choice of the venue for the action is noteworthy - the coast of the ancient Hazar. An unusual creative holiday sparkling with joy gathered here numerous residents and guests of Primorye. Under the bravura sounds of national instruments, a bright festival procession appears on the square of the Avaza park. In front of numerous spectators in colorful costumes are all the creative teams.

Then the participants heard and met with friendly applause the welcoming address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sent by the head of state to the participants of the festival.

For this solemn day, all the ensembles prepared bright dance numbers - original business cards of their teams, performed on an open stage, against the backdrop of a seascape.

The national heritage of different peoples appeared in a modern frame, thus highlighting one of the main goals of the international festival - to preserve and increase the richness of national cultures.

One of the brightest concert numbers was the ancient Turkmen dance “kushtdepdi”, which is considered to be the birthplace of the Balkan velayat. All participants of the festive concert joined the folk dance, which is distinguished by its extraordinary cheerfulness and scope.

The festival has started. In the coming days, it will continue with a number of bright creative events.

We remind that the Turkmen "Avaza" has a rich festival history. It has repeatedly become a platform for fruitful creative cooperation. A number of international festivals were held here, where performers of classical and modern music, as well as folklore and choreographic groups, presented their art.
