Turkmenistan and Pakistan signed a Joint Plan for the Accelerated Implementation of the TAPI Gas Pipeline Project

The joint plan for the accelerated implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project was signed today by the Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Maksat Babayev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission, the meeting took place within the framework of the working trip of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Pakistan. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his support for the early completion of the TAPI gas pipeline and TAP transmission line projects, which will play an important role in meeting Pakistan's energy needs.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Prime Minister noted that TAPI is a very important project for regional prosperity, and stressed that Pakistan will do everything to speed up its implementation.

On the same day, the Turkmen delegation headed by Babayev met with the Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Land Forces, General Asim Munir, and informed him about the implementation of the TAPI and TAP projects. Reaffirming the importance of these joint major projects, the Pakistani side assured of its full support in this regard.

During the visit of the Turkmen delegation to Pakistan, productive meetings were also held at the technical level on the projects of the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power line, the source notes.
