Ashgabat hosted a concert "VERDI" with the participation of an Italian singer

A joint Turkmen-Italian concert “VERDI”, dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the outstanding composer Giuseppe Verdi, was successfully held in Ashgabat at the National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly.

The State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by Rasul Klychev and a specially invited guest, the famous Italian opera singer Maria Pia Piscitelli, shone on the stage.

The concert was organized by the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan together with the Ministry of Culture of the country.

During the musical evening, 9 fragments from Giuseppo Verdi's operas were performed. His music, written in the middle of the 19th century, has not lost its relevance to this day. She is loved and popular all over the world.

According to the publication "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age", Maria Pia Piscitelli appeared before the Ashgabat audience in the image of Elizabeth from the opera "Don Carlos". Further, in a duet, Nury Nuryev performed with her in the part of Alfred and Violetta from the opera La Traviata.

At the end of the concert, the singer performed an encore of Lady Macbeth's aria from the opera Macbeth. The audience did not let her leave the stage with friendly applause, and in parting, Maria sang the world-famous song by Eduardo di Capua "About salt myo", which was picked up by the audience.

Maria Pia Piscitelli left Ashgabat immediately after the concert due to a busy schedule of performances.
