On June 3, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bucharest organized a bike ride on the occasion of World Bicycle Day. The sporting event was held in Carol Mihai I Park in Bucharest with the support of the Municipality of Bucharest and the Green Revolution Association. The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Romania, representatives and members of their families, as well as citizens of Turkmenistan and students temporarily studying in this country, the press service of the embassy reported.
At the opening ceremony of the bike ride, the head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission noted that sports diplomacy, being an important component of the foreign policy strategy of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is aimed at strengthening the policy of peace and good neighborliness, intensifying international cooperation in the field of elite sports, as well as popularizing a healthy lifestyle and forming an ecological culture , personal formation of the young generation of the country.
