From August 1, Canada will start selling cigarettes with an inscription about the dangers of smoking on each of them, reports the BBC.
The inscription about the dangers of tobacco products on cigarette packs is familiar to everyone. Now Canadian smokers will see the same inscription on the filter of every cigarette. Canada will be the first country in the world to introduce such an innovation.
The new rules for labeling tobacco products will be introduced in stages, the law will come into full force in the spring of 2025. Canadian authorities hope to reduce tobacco consumption in the country by 5% by 2035.
