Credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Rafala Poborski received today, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.
“Wishing to maintain and systematically develop the friendly relations that exist between the Republic of Poland and Turkmenistan, I decided to appoint Rafal Poborski Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Turkmenistan. The high personal qualities of Mr. Poborski convince me that, in fulfilling his lofty mission, he will do everything to help strengthen the bonds of friendship between our countries,” reads the text of the credentials signed by President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
On behalf of the head of Turkmenistan, the head of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post, wishing him success in his noble mission to strengthen the ties of friendship and fruitful partnership between the two states.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues of productive interaction, built from the standpoint of equality, trust and respect.
Ambassador Rafal Poborski was informed about the main directions and priorities of the domestic and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, the most important vector of which is the establishment of broad international cooperation in the interests of global peace, security and sustainable development.
The diplomat also got acquainted with the structure and activities of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, its work on legislative support for reforms in various fields, and the exchange of accumulated legislative experience. A separate topic of discussion was the possibility of expanding inter-parliamentary ties, including within the framework of international parliamentary organizations.
Expressing his country's interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas, Rafal Poborsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Turkmenistan, assured that he would make every effort to further build up a constructive dialogue and strengthen traditionally good relations that fully meet mutual interests.
On the same day, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland Rafal Poborski was also received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where a substantive discussion of issues of further cooperation between the two countries took place.
Last year, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Poland celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations that were established on September 29, 1992.
