In Russia, owners will be fined for throwing their pets out into the street

The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law providing for liability for pets, TASS reports.

The authors of the bill are Deputy Head of the Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Vladimir Burmatov and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov.

Now pet owners who leave them unattended will be fined 3 000 rubles. For officials, this amount increases to 15 thousand, and for legal entities - up to 30 thousand rubles.

Cruelty to animals provides for fines for citizens of 15 thousand rubles, officials will be fined 15 thousand rubles, legal entities 30 thousand.

Penalties are also being introduced for owners of animal shelters - for non-compliance with the requirements for handling animals, they face fines from 15 to 30 thousand rubles.

The owner of an animal that has bitten strangers will be fined 200 000 rubles.
